Voyager Infinity

Before you get started, we recommend watching the Voyager Infinity integration video below. It gives a good overview of how the integration works and how to prepare your Voyager templates.

note

The video predates our new Console, so the instructions for generating your Legalesign API credentials are no longer current. Please follow Step 2 below instead.

1. Create your Legalesign trial

If you haven't already done so, create your Legalesign account.

The account owner should be the person who will act as your Legalesign administrator — typically the Voyager Super User.

2. Generate your API credentials

The Voyager–Legalesign integration currently uses our legacy (v3) API keys. To generate one, you'll first need to switch temporarily to the legacy interface.

To switch to the legacy interface:

  1. Click your name in the bottom-left corner.
  2. Select Switch to Legacy App.
  3. Select v3 App1.
  4. Click Change Version and switch back to Teams.

See our guide: Switching between app versions

Once you're in the legacy interface:

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner.
  2. Select API.
  3. Click Create API Key.

See our guide: How to obtain your API key

Make a note of both your username and API key — these will need to be entered into your Voyager account to establish the connection between the two systems.

Once you've saved your credentials, return to the latest interface by clicking the Upgrade App link at the top of the page. All day-to-day administration and document management should be carried out in the new Console (v4); you only need the legacy interface to generate API credentials.

3. Configure your Voyager templates

Documents are created and stored within the Voyager Comms Centre.

When preparing your templates:

  • Use Voyager Merge Codes for all candidate, client, and placement data that should be merged into the document.
  • For the first signer's signature, use the Voyager Signature Merge Code, as demonstrated in the video above.
  • For additional signers, use Legalesign Text Tags. For example, the signature field for signer two is:
<<t=signature;s=2>>

The most commonly used Legalesign Text Tags are:

FieldText Tag
Print Name<<t=signer;s=1;label=Print Name>>
Signing Date<<t=signer;f=32>>

You can also add initials, text fields, checkboxes, dropdowns, and file uploads.

See the full Text Tags reference.

4. Configure your Legalesign account

Once your Voyager templates are ready, spend a little time configuring your Legalesign account. We recommend reviewing:

See the full Getting Started guides.

Once you've completed the initial setup, contact us to arrange a short review session. We'll go through your configuration together, answer any questions, and optimise your settings before you go live.

5. Add your remaining users

Once your templates are complete and your account configuration has been reviewed, invite the rest of your users.

Guide: How to add a user

Each user should then:

  1. Activate their Legalesign account.
  2. Email support@legalesign.com requesting API access for the Voyager Infinity integration. There is no need to provide the API verification information mentioned in our standard API documentation — this isn't required for the Voyager plugin.
  3. Switch to the legacy (v3) app and generate their API credentials by following Step 2 above.
  4. Enter their username and API key into their Voyager user profile to link their Legalesign account.
  5. Switch back to the v4 Console by clicking Upgrade App.
