Auto-archive
Auto-archive is a template behavior that moves a template out of the active library after it has been used to create and send a document.
It is mainly a workflow and library-management feature.
When auto-archive is useful
Auto-archive is a good fit when:
- a template is intended for one-time or limited use
- you want to reduce library clutter
- the send workflow is more important than long-term reuse of the template
When not to use it
Auto-archive is usually the wrong choice when:
- the template is part of a repeat process
- multiple users need to keep finding it quickly
- the template is still evolving and will be edited again soon
What it changes operationally
Auto-archive does not change the document that was sent. It changes how the source template is managed after send.
The main effect is that active template lists stay cleaner, but reuse becomes less immediate because the template is no longer sitting in the normal active library.
